Manso Nkwanta NPP Primaries: Attempt to Oust Grace Addo Exposed

Prof Quarm and Grace Addo
Rumour associated with an allegation that MP for Manso Nkwanta, Joseph Albert Quarm has paid huge sums of money and ten (10) kilos of pure gold from his small scale mine to the former Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Peter McManu, Sam Pyne the Ashanti Regional secretary and F. F Antoh the second vice chair of the party is escalating too much in the Manso Nkwanta constituency, odinews85.blogspot.com can report.

According to close sources who spoke to this network, this as a result is gradually diminishing the support of the party members and the entire populace of the constituency because the face value of the party has been tampered with by the incumbent MP.

They reiterated that traditional authorities including the Paramount Chief of Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council are at loggerheads with the MP in question and they have teamed up with polling station executives to get the MP out during the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

He has insulted chiefs and shown gross disrespect to them saying they have no land in the constituency while he has threatened to destool a Chief at Pakyi II for not releasing the MP's choice of a particular land by the roadside for a technical and vocational school project.

Most of the delegates who spoke to this network during the poll explained that the former MP, Madam Grace Addo, while in opposition administered the then Amansie West Constituency as one of the largest areas for representation to parliament during her first term in office before the current Manso Nkwanta and Manso Adubia constituencies were created.

The delegates contended that with all the associated challenges as an opposition MP, Madam Grace Addo worked deligently to the satisfaction and admiration of  her constituents.

On the contrary, delegates and constituents described the ,Hon. MP JA Quarm as a self acclaimed PROFESSOR, domineering and someone who carries himself as the resiprotry of knowledge and wisdom.

They added that the MP has been unco-operative and irritating working with past  and current District Chief Executives because he affectionately and proudly describrs himself as the FATHER OF THE CONSTITUENCY,for which reason all must submit to his dictates

What got the people especially the delegates who spoke to this network discarding him from their minds is how he got all deceived that he wants the local people to do small scale mining and not the Chinese nationals not knowing he had interest in the lands on which the local people were working.

They were emphatic that, Mr Joseph Albert Quarm is a full time illegal miner in the constituency but sends the operation vanguard to torment the local people and arrest them.

About 97% of the constituents are yearning for Hon Grace Addo's return for her sterling leadership qualities and respect for constituents.

They have therefore vowed to vote skirt and blouse for the first time based on any orchestration to disqualify Madam Grace Addo to pave way for Hon Joseph Albert Quarm who is not the people's choice.

The aggrieved constituents are therefore calling for an open contest so that whoever secures victory does so on merit. They concluded that a stitch in time saves nine in order to accomplish the agenda 47/47 in the Ashanti Region.

Attempt to Disqualify Grace Addo
Mr. McManu has also been accused of calling the Manso Nkwanta constituency secretary, Samuel Asare-Brew telling him about the done deal of Grace Addo's disqualification from the upcoming primaries.

Concerned, aggrieved and well meaning constituents have put up the challenge that if indeed Joseph Albert Quarm is the choice of the people and that he has done well for the constituency as he claims why do these people want to disqualify Grace Addo and not open up for a contest.

Previous Allegations against Hon Joseph Albert Quarm
On March 1st, 2020 the finance committee Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) at Manso Nkwanta constituency in the Amansie West Districts of Ashanti Region, Mr Kwame Boakye called on the government to investigate the Member of Parliament(MP) for Manso Nkwanta, Hon Joseph Albert Quarm for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of excavators seized from illegal miners.

According to him, Mr Quarm should also be investigated by the government as his two excavators and others seized by the MP and some military men have gone missing.

Hon Joseph Albert Quarm and a team of military men numbering fifty (50) were on operations at Manso Nkwanta where the two excavators belonging to Mr Boakye and four others were seized by the team.

The excavators were sent to the Amansie West District Assembly and later transferred from the Assembly to Accra as ordered by the MP.

Mr Boakye, according to him followed up to Accra but couldn't find the excavators.

I have clear evidence of why the government should investigat the Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta and an anti-Galamsey crusader, Hon Joseph Albert Quarm. Where are the excavators seized at Manso Nkwanta? he asked.

Cocoa Farmers Accused Prof Quarm Of Using Their Farmlands For Galamsey
One of the biggest producers of cocoa beans in the Cocoa farming communities in Amansie West of the Ashanti Region, Manso Nsiana is facing crisis as anti-Galamsey crusader and Member of Parliament(MP) for Manso Nkwanta Constituency, Hon Joseph Albert Quarm have turned their farmlands to galamsey sites.

The Environmental Miner and land reclamation expert have given Cocoa farms belonging to the individual farmers as consession for mining and about fifty(50) acres of Cocoa farms have been destroyed already and still counting.

Hon  Quarm claims to have personally funded the fight against illegal mining activities in this community from his own resources.

According to him, nobody has been able to mine illegally there because he spent a lot of money to prevent the locals and Chinese nationals from doing it in Manso Nsiana community where he hails from in his constituency.

The MP who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Prof. Qualm Publication once reiterated that as a mining expert, he is not against mining but  will not support the illegal ones but the situation was different when this Network vistied the community.

The farmers allegedly accused the MP of collecting Gh¢200,000 plus a 25% commission on every production per an acre from the buyers but the farmer who has spent several years on his/her Cocoa farm is paid the maximum of Gh¢20,000 .

The Cocoa farmers are therefore calling  for immediate intervention by the government to save the Cocoa industry.

The NPP government is committed to reverse the dwindling fortunes of cocoa farming and return to economic levels of productivity for inputs delivery and effective organisation of cocoa farmers.

Despite government's measures to revamp the cocoa sector, the farmers stated that governments promise to boost cocoa production in the country would be in vain if immediate action is not taken against the anti-Galamsey crusader. The drama has just begun

UniBank case referred to arbitration

The court however says the unibank case is not frivolous An Accra High Court has referred part of the case between the shareholders and the Receiver of uniBank for arbitration. The appointment of an arbitrator by the judge, Justice Jennifer Abena Dadzie, follows an application by the Receiver of the bank, Nii Amanor Dodoo, to dismiss the counterclaim of some of the shareholders of the bank to those he filed. However the court said unibank case is not frivolous. The Receiver, in his application, prayed the court to strike out the amended statement of defence and counterclaim of three of the shareholders. He said the pleadings by the defendants are an abuse of the court’s processes and attempt to delay the fair resolution of the dispute, which is “very simple as it involves recovery of sums of money which have been allegedly taken out of the accounts of uniBank, which is now in receivership.” The Receiver of defunct uniBank sued the founder of the bank, Dr Kwabena Duffuor and 16 othe
