NPP Primaries: Delegate Mysteriously Dies Ahead Election At Atwima Nwabiagya North

A New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegate in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency, Bright Sarkodie who doubles as a NABCO director in the district has died mysteriously ahead of the party's Parliamentary primaries slated for Saturday 20th June, 2020.

Bright Sarkodie died in his sleep at Adankwame in Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency and was  pronounced dead after being rushed to the Asuofua Community  Hospital on Thursday 7th May, 2020. It is unclear what caused his death.

Some delegates in the constituency, had confirmed the news, adding that the deceased is indeed a delegate of the party at Adankwame electoral area.

After he was pronounced dead, his body was taken from the hospital to the party office under instructions from a pastor that, Bright wasn't dead and he(pastor) could pray to bring the deceased back to life but unfortunately, the pastor couldn't resurrect the district NABCO director from the dead.

According to an eye witness who spoke to this network, Bright's finger nails were cut at the party office, and that alone is making a lot of people who knows Bright very suspicious of his sadden death.

The sadden death of Bright got everyone emotional when most of the delegates showed how bad the death of the district NABCO director has affected the constituency.

Most of the delegates are griefing after reports of Bright's death went viral. However, caution has been sent to others who want capitalize on the death of Bright to campaign ahead of the primaries to desist from it.

The late Bright Sarkodie will be laid to rest on Saturday, 13th June, 2020 at Adankwame where he hail from, in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency.

Two staff at Office of Special Prosecutor investigated for stealing fuel

Accountant, Peter Owusu Afriyie and Secretary to the Special Prosecutor’s office, Joseph Dasanah, drew almost ¢10,000 worth of fuel monthly even though they are not entitled to it, JoyNews has sighted a memo. A memo from the then acting Head of Investigations, Julius Zodanu, to the Special Prosecutor, detailed how Joseph Dasanah –Amidu’s secretary, and an accountant, both signed for fuel coupons even though, as unconfirmed staff on secondment, neither of them was entitled to it. Bird flu hits Accra, Volta and Central Regions

  The Food and Agriculture Ministry through its Veterinary Services Directorate has confirmed the outbreak of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza disease, otherwise known as Bird flu in some parts of the country. These are the Greater Accra, Central, and Volta Regions. The outbreak of the disease follows the detection of similar cases in neighboring countries since January 2021.  The Ministry in a press statement said “Through effective surveillance and disease control management, the Veterinary Services Directorate has prevented the extension of the disease into Ghana until now.”  Cases of the Bird Flu disease were previously recorded in 2007, 2015, 2016 and 2018, with a significant economic impact on affected poultry farmers.  It said, “The zoonotic nature of the disease calls for public alert and vigilance to mitigate the possible impact on the poultry industry and public health in general.”   Accordingly, the Ministry announces the following measures ...
