Video: GFCL Is Not a Scam - Contractors Admit

Contractors executing various automated modern toilet facilities across the country for Ghana First Company Limited, a waste management firm under a Public Private Partnership with Government of Ghana have admitted that the GFCL is not a scamming company as suspected.

According to the Contractors, they were made to believe that the activities of GFCL were scam but after meeting with the management(GFCL), they were convinced that GFCL mean business and assured them of their corporation.

They said, peace has prevailed because issues that were bothering them had been explained to them in detail and based on what they have seen and documents shown to them, GFCL is not a scam.

Addressing the media after a successful meeting with the management of GFCL, Chairman of New World Construction Ltd, Mr Emmanuel Dapaah on behalf of his colleague contractors appealed to the government to support GFCL to acquire all the necessary documents in order for GFCL to get a loan to pay them.

Ghana First Company Limited (GFCL) entered into a Public –Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana concerning the construction of Ultra-Modern ICT toilet facilities all over the country.

The MMDAs gave an undertaking to provide bare lands and the Land Title Documents on the lands for the construction of the toilets. The structures built and the Land Title Documents were to be used solely by GFCL as collateral in addition to other requirements demanded by the financial institutions to secure funding.

Though GFCL has provided its requirements to the financial institutions for the funding of the project, the MMDAs have until date refused to provide the Land Title Documents, a key requirement by the financial institutions. This has unduly hindered the company’s efforts to secure funding for the project.
The management of the company however, thinks the MMDAs failure to submit the Land Title Document as they undertook to do is the main cause of the delay in securing funding by GFCL for the project.

Nonetheless, GFCL would greatly appreciate it if the MMDAs would respect the undertaking they made to submit the Land Title Documents of the lands they released for the project to enable the company secure the needed funding for the project and has appealed to institutions and other bodies to patronize their offices.
