Awele who was speaking as a pundit on Zylofon FM's showbiz agenda was unforgiving in his words as he bemoaned how Ghanaian TV is flooded with foreign telenovelas and soap operas during primetime.
To him even if a TV station agrees to promote your content, they air it an unfavorable or unmarketable time. On top of that is their unwillingness to pay local producers the money their work and creativity deserves.
Best known for his roles in local drama series "Chorkor Trotro" and "James Town Fisherman", Awele also laid blame on fellow actors for helping TV stations to promote and market these telenovelas and also the National Media Commission for not regulating the content being aired on TV these days.
This he says have led to the increasing phenomenon of YouTube TV channels of which he has one called Bilika TV.
"A time is coming when these TV stations will start begging for content but that time they won't get us because we've now realized that YouTube is the new ish", he added.
